Teresa Y. Neely: Information Literacy Assessment - the ACRL Standards and Beyond

Sažetak:
Information literacy encompasses a number of skill sets including the ability to access, retrieve, evaluate, manage, and use information
effectively and efficiently from a variety of print and non-print sources. This lecture will address assessment for information literacy
using the Information Competency Standards for Higher Education, developed by the Association for College And Research Libraries (ACRL),
the academic division of the American Library Association (ALA). This lecture will also include addressing areas critical for assessment not
covered by the ACRL Standards including the nature of the relationship between students and faculty, students' perceptions of and attitudes
about the standards, detailed demographic and background information, and technological competencies.

Aleksandra Horvat: Poslijediplomski doktorski studij informacijskih znanosti

Sažetak:
Od šk. god. 2005.2006. Odsjek za informacijske znanosti Filozofskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu organizira doktorski studij informacijskih znanosti u skladu s odredbama Zakona o znanstvenoj djelatnosti i visokom obrazovanju (2003.). U izlaganju će se prikazati dosadašnja iskustva Odsjeka za informacijske znanosti u organiziranju i izvođenju poslijediplomskog studija informacijskih znanosti i razlozi za pokretanje novoga studija. Izložit će se struktura studija, oblici izvođenja nastave, opisati obvezatne i izborne aktivnosti polaznika.

Govorit ćemo o postupku konverzije kataložnih zapisa na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Opisat ćemo glavne tipove grašaka u CDS/ISIS zapisima i načine ispravljanja grešaka. Na primjerima originalnih i konvertiranih zapisa pokazat ćemo što se sve može s podacima. Dokumentacija o konverziji raste na wiki stranicama http://saturn.ffzg.hr/konverzija.
Uvjeti:
samo projektor i veza na Internet. ne treba racunalna ucionica.
A buduci da polaznici ne trebaju imati svoja racunala, moze ih biti kolko ih stane u dvoranu.

Teresa Y. Neely: Developing Information Literacy Based User Education Sessions

Sažetak:
The primary focus of this workshop will be on the ACRL Standards and the process of integrating the objectives and competencies into a
regular library instruction programme. Participants in this interactive collaborative workshop will learn how to develop user education sessions
using the five ACRL standards:

• The information literate student determines the nature and extent of the information needed.
• The information literate student accesses needed information effectively and efficiently.
• The information literate student evaluates information and its sources critically and incorporates selected information into his or her

knowledge base and value system.

• The information literate student, individually or as a member of a group, uses information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
• The information literate student understands many of the economic, legal, and social issues surrounding the use of information and accesses

and uses information ethically and legally.
Using case studies, participants will work in groups to develop a 50-minute librarian led course-integrated instruction session, focused
on one of each of the 5 Standards. The use of all 5 Standards is dependent upon the overall attendance at this workshop. Participants
will have the opportunity to provide feedback and learn from each other as each of the small groups will have the opportunity to do a brief
presentation of their session for the entire group.

I will not need the internet for either the lecture or presentation.
For the workshop it would be nice if there could be 6 flipcharts (for the small groups) with markers. I will most likely have a handout or two
for the groups. Would it be possible for you to make copies or do i need to bring them?
